Dj Blackboi is yet to receive any money for allowing WorldMap Records to own rights to his song Dem Go Hear Am. A song he featured Lega and Kasare, mixed by Timz Beat.
It was quite surprising to many when an artwork was outdoored to announce Lega who was rather featured on that project become the owner. Lega, an award winning artiste recently have been spotted in the company of officials of World Map records on media tours in Accra. Could he, Lega, have been signed unto the label that caters to KK Fosu?
According to close sources, the Record label owner expressed interest in the song after going through Lega’s catalogue. Knowing well the song belongs to Dj Blackboi, he requested a change in the ownership so Lega could use it as a springboard.
The song has however been renamed, re-mixed and remastered by prominent sound engineer Mix masta Garzy. A video quickly shot and soon to be released.
Dj Blackboi is yet to officially meet with WorldMap CEO to know his fate as the transfer of the song (ownership) was done verbal with a team member.
“I am yet to meet the record label owner for proper documentations even as I have given the go ahead. I was pushed by a team member and felt it was okay since it could possibly cause a break through for Lega. I did my own little promotion but wish it takes Lega far and not to be forgotten for my efforts” Dj Blackboi has said to StandoutEnt Gh.
Could Lega get a breakthrough from this “renaming” project?
Meanwhile Dj Blackboi’s “Dem Go Hear Am” has been nominated in the Helloadipa Volta Music Awards for Most popular song of the year and Best Collaboration of the year categories.
Dj Blackboi himself for Best Dj/Promoter of the year category.
