A group of young people from Hohoe, in the Volta Region, have moved to provide free Face Masks to residents. 2H City Connect is a group of young Hohoe citizens resident elsewhere in the country. The group is founded on the sole purpose of promoting oneness among members to foster development in their homeland, Hohoe.
As part of the fight against the novel Coronavirus, the group has taken the initiative to provide free face masks to residents of Hohoe and some satellite towns.
In a interaction with StandOutEnt GH, leader of the group, Flint Honour Agbemor, spelled out the groups objectives.
“The donation is to support our locals in the fight against COVID 19. We believe at 2H City Connect that our people, most of whom are mostly on the move in search of their livelihood, are exposed to the virus and it’s best they protect themselves by wearing masks as well as observing all the other protocols,” he said.
He added that local dress makers were commissioned to engage in the production of the said masks as a way of giving some financial empowerment to their people.
“We are hereby distributing thousands of locally-produced face masks approved by health experts to citizens. It’s refreshing to note that these masks are fashioned by tailors who are our own brothers and sisters resident within the Hohoe Municipality. This is a deliberate decision so as to empower our own people financially,” he added.
“2H City Connect is a youth group emanating from the Hohoe Municipal Area. Our aim is to identify peculiar social challenges confronting our people so we could find a way of lending our support in our little ways. Last year, for example, we registered some one thousand (1000) people and helped enroll them onto the NHIS for free”
The target is to donate 10,000 Face Masks, so far 3000 has been disturbed.
