The acting president and other national executives of Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) paid a visit to the Volta Region MUSIGA members led by the regional chairman Mr. Tony D.
The meeting took place at the Center for national culture in Ho the volta regional capital on the 4th of February 2021.
The purpose of this engagement with the volta region MUSIGA members is to discuss one critical issues that affects all members of the union which is welfare.
The national executives led by Mr Besah Simon told the members of the volta region about a group insurance policy that the union has secured for all members of the union.
He further explained that the policy will only have members pay a premium as low as Ghs50 every year to enjoy benefits ranging from death, illness amongst others.
He disclosed that state insurance company SIC is the insurance company spearheading this intervention for MUSIGA members across the nation.
The acting president also urge all members of the union to constantly renew their membership registration in order to be on a good standing with the union.
Mr. Tony D the volta regional Chairman also urged all musicians in the region to join the union so as to make it more stronger than ever.
He further told members about the numerous benefits that accrue to the members of the union.
Some of the benefits to the members are, the opportunity to get one’s music played on at least on 5 tv and radio stations in Ghana.
The acting president ended his speech with the promise of organizing a workshop for all members to acquire skills in modern trends of marketing music. The workshop is planned to come off soon in all regions.
Mr Tony D who doubles as the CEO of Tosh Tv and Tosh Fm in collaboration with Mr. Wayo victory aka Cee Wayo , the managing director of Pub Records Studio in Juapong, announced discounts to all members of the union who will record their music at pub records studio and in furtherance have their songs and videos played on Tosh TV and Tosh FM for free.
The meeting ended successfully with a lot of members attending from all parts of the region.
