Popular Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson was met with a lot of negative reactions when she has asked her followers to help donate to her colleague Beverley Afaglo who lost her house in an inferno.
On her Social media platforms, she has asked the public to donate money via a GoFundMe account to help her colleague Beverly get back to her feet. Her gesture was rather met with a heavy backlash.
Beverly Afaglo lost her home in an inferno on August 9, 2021. The actress in an earlier interview on Hitz FM revealed that she couldn’t save anything from the fire.
“I’m in my sister’s house, my children, and my mother. There were a lot of valuables. The things I sell were all gone. My mother has refused to eat, she feels sorry. She feels she caused it. I don’t have anything, no panties to wear, nothing. I need to build again, I need to start all over again. My husband is in America, he doesn’t live with us anymore.”
Meanwhile, preliminary investigations by Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) indicate that the fire was sparked as a result of an opened fire on the premises.
According to the Fire Service in Tema, the house was burnt as a result of someone burning items in a compound behind the house.
A further shocking revelation by the fire service shows that the house was highly inflamed before they were contacted.
